Located about half-way between Atlanta and Birmingham, Randolph county is home to Lake Wedowee. This 10,000 acre Alabama Power impoundment is a popular destination in east Alabama for water recreation and lake-homes. The lake is formed by the Tallapoosa River and the Little Tallapoosa River which flow through the county. Randolph county is on the Alabama-Georgia state line, and is easily accessed from I-20 to the north and I-85 to the south.
